Russell A Johnson, born in Vincennes, Indiana, December 9, 1954, was admitted to Indiana Bar in 1981 and also admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Southern District of Indiana. Preparatory and legal education was at Indiana University, Indianapolis with a B.A. in Environmental Science in 1978; Doctor of Jurisprudence, Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis in 1981. Mr. Johnson served on the faculty for Indiana Public Defender Training seminars from 1983 until present, was Regional Editor, DWI Journal (National Publication 1985-1987); Death Penalty Qualified as Lead Counsel 1989 to present; lead counsel six times in death penalty cases; qualified expert as ineffective assistance of counsel expert in death penalty litigation.
