What clients are saying about Greg Sobo: “My future husband and father of my daughter died suddenly in a construction accident. I first hired another law firm, but never really felt comfortable.  I decided to switch attorneys to Sobo & Sobo.  What a HUGE difference I noticed in the case right away.  You can see that Greg and the firm genuinely care about the outcome of the case.  Once Sobo & Sobo took over, the case moved in the right direction, all of my questions were answered, and even my young daughter felt comfortable.  This firm is truly passionate about helping people, and I can never thank them enough for what they did for me.” – Patricia Murphy

• Tell me about your educational background.
I graduated from Pine Bush High School in 1990.  I graduated from Colgate University in 1994, cum laude, and was named the Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year several times.  I was the East Coast Athletic Conference Diving Champion four times, and was an N.C.A.A. Division I finalist two times.  I then took two years to devote to training for the 1996 Olympic Trials in springboard diving, and was a nationally ranked diver.  I retired from competitive diving in 1996 and attended the Syracuse College of Law in 1996, where I graduated magna cum laude, became a published author in the Syracuse Law Review with an article that was cited by the Supreme Court of Massachusetts, and was chosen as one of the top prospective trial lawyers in the nation by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

• How did your upbringing lead you to become a lawyer?
My father, Gary Sobo, is a lawyer.  One particular day when I was young, I remember going to a local department store with my father.  While we were there, a woman approaching my father and thanked him for the work that he had done for her.  She was clearly so appreciative for what he had done for her.  To this day, I have no idea what my father did for her, but  I was always struck by how appreciative people were for my dad’s good work.  I wanted to have that same feeling.

• What do you love about your job?
I love the challenge and competition that the practice of law presents.  Every case presents a new unique challenge and opportunity for success.  I love having the opportunity to give 100% of my efforts to helping victims of injuries, and I truly enjoy meeting new people and exploring how we can help.

• Describe one of your accomplishments as a lawyer.
I am particularly proud of the firm, Sobo & Sobo, LLP, that I helped to build and create.  I am proud of the talented and devoted people that are members of the firm, and of how hard they work every day to help innocent victims.  One of our mantras is that this firm does not boast or brag about money settlements or verdicts, and we refuse to mention the amounts we recover for our clients.  Nevertheless, I am so proud of the results that we are able to achieve for our clients, one unique case at a time.

• Tell me about your past experience handling personal injury cases?
I have been working in the field of personal injury law for over 15 years.  I have personally handled almost every type of personal injury case, and have become knowledgeable about a wide spectrum of accident induced injuries.  I have negotiated countless settlements, engaged in numerous mediations and arbitrations, and have litigated many cases to a jury verdict where the jury awarded substantial sums in favor of our clients.
