A. Edward Fawwal was born on November 15, 1953, in Washington D. C., the youngest of four children of parents who emigrated to this country from the Middle East. At the age of seven he moved with his family to Florida where he was raised and was graduated from public high school in Jacksonville. He attended college and law school in Florida and came to Alabama in 1978, to practice with his brother.

Mr. Fawwal is an Honors graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Florida Law School. He has been a member of the Alabama Bar since April, 1979. He is also a member of the Florida Bar and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit..

After serving with the District Attorney’s Office for the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Alabama, Bessemer Division, from 1979 – 1981, Mr. Fawwal began private practice in Bessemer serving Jefferson, Shelby, Tuscaloosa and Bibb Counties. His areas of practice include, debt relief, criminal law, worker’s compensation, wrongful death and personal injury, family law, probate law and social security disability law. He has also been certified as a Guardian ad Litem in matters relating to custody of minors.

Mr. Fawwal, was a Special Assistant state Attorney General representing the Department of Human Resources from 1982 to 2005. He is also a past member of the Board of Governors of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association. He is listed in Strathmore’s Who’s Who and Stanford’s Who’s Who. He is married to Cynthia Blackwell Fawwal and resides in Hoover, Alabama with his wife and daughter.
